    Over
So Ben quit SOF yesterday, hes just not enjoying what we play anymore. I can't really be mad at him fro it, he shouldn't play if hes not into it. Mike and I agreed that we can't play SOF songs without him, it just wouldn't feel right. Honestly, right now it feels like I just got served with divorce papers. 4 years as a band is a pretty good run though I suppose, I just wish this last year had been more eventful. I guess now its time for some other band to take over as the one kids don't seem to pay any attention to.

Mike, Joe and I will hopefully keep playing together, if not I'm going to try to get something else going. There are a lot of things I'd like to try, hopefully I can find people interested in them as well.

For those who don't know, my grandmother didn't make it. She passed last Monday night at CMMC. She was a really amazing woman, and definitely a huge inspiration to everyone that knew her. The Sun Journal had a really nice article about her in the paper last wednesday if anyone is interested in reading it:

'Road Warrior' found freedom riding on her three-wheeler

By Mark LaFlamme , Staff Writer
    Wednesday, April 18, 2007

LEWISTON - It's little wonder that Alice Johnson continued to ride a bicycle into her golden years. As a child growing up in West Gardiner, she would ride a bike to school with her brothers and a boy next door. She had a fondness for three-wheelers and one day, a mischievous classmate tied her bike to a tree.

Johnson eventually got her bike free and perhaps that new appreciation for her transportation inspired her to ride more than 12 miles a day into her late 70s.

Affectionately known by some as "The Road Warrior," Johnson died Monday at a Lewiston hospital. In March, the 78-year-old was seriously injured and hospitalized after she rode her three-wheeler into the back of a pickup truck while out on her daily ride on Bull Run Road in Greene.

Johnson lived on Pond Road in Wales and for years, the sight of her pedaling county roads became commonplace for people who live in Wales, Monmouth, Sabattus, Leeds, Greene and Lewiston.

Johnson rode her bike in good weather and bad, often pedaling "around the block," from Wales to Monmouth, down Blue Road to Route 202, to the Red Roof Store, then down Leeds Junction Road and back home again.

Family members said Johnson always found joy in the open-air freedom of bicycle riding. She and her brothers grew up on a farm in Fayette, but it wasn't until later that Johnson got her first bike and discovered the thrill.

"She enjoyed them way back in school," said Grace Burrell, Johnson's sister who lives in Oakland. "It was always a three-wheeler. She liked those the best."

In 1947, she married Ronald N. Johnson in Greene and the couple had nine children. When Ronald died of cancer in 1991, all of her kids were grown and Johnson needed a new hobby. More precisely, she needed an old one.

She began riding again in earnest in 1991 and within a decade, after riding roughly 12 miles a day, she had logged 10,000 miles.

"She went through five bikes," Burrell said.

In a 2003 interview, Johnson said she began running errands by bike after her husband died. She didn't drive and had to walk everywhere, she said. Then one of her sons suggested she get a bike, and that was that.

She picked up a dark blue 2001 FS Elite Tri-Coaster with a basket in back, a small American flag, a rearview mirror and a 5-foot pole with a faded red reflective flag.

"I'm free to come and go as I want to, when I want to," Johnson said at the time.

According to her obituary, Johnson will be buried in a cemetery on Pond Road, near her home and the usual starting point for her daily jaunts.

I went to visit my grandmother in the hospital today. Shes been in there for a few weeks due to a pretty serious bike accident. As you can imagine, this is not easy on a 78 year old woman. She suffered lots of broken ribs and broken hips, and apparently shes been having crazy hallucinations since the accident. The doctors also say that there are signs that shes had a few minor strokes over the past few years as well. Needless to say I'm more than a little uncomfortable with it, especially after watching my grandfather on my mom's side slowly lose a fight with Alzheimer's. On the plus side, she has had pretty much non stop company since shes been in the hospital and seems to be pretty happy in spite of her injuries.

I feel really bad for her, shes probably not going to be able to ride her bike anymore. Shes going to have to go through a lot of physical therapy and even then most likely won't be at 100% again. The bike was her only mode of transportation and one of her favorite pass times. She has logged over 10000 miles on that bike since shes had it.

2006 wasn't very cool at all, here are some things I hope will happen in 2007:

I'll get a new job, one that I like
    I'll get to travel
I'll get over my fear of every potential girlfriend being psychotic and actually make an attempt to land one for a change
I'll actually do my Yoga for a change
I'll find a large box of money
someone will actually enjoy my band
I'll be paid most of the money I'm owed
    Ezra will shower
I'll spend a few months out of Maine
    I'll get tattooed multiple times
I'll find things to do with my days off

I figure after the way the past two years have gone, I'm about due for good things to happen. If even a few things on this list come to pass, it will be a good start.

I'm actually excited kind of excited about snow this year since I have a yard now. Snow forts/people/angels will ensue. Fuck yeah!

I am not however excited about driving molestro through it, I need to buy a few buckets of sand to weight down the rear end.

So after all this time I've finally met a really nice girl that actually likes me for a change and now there is something holding me back. Time is wasting and I have to get this figured out before I let my chance slip away just like I have every other one I've had in the past year plus of my life.

Maybe its that I've had possibly the worst love life a guy could have in the recent past thats got me wary of things. In every relationship or even brief involvement I've had with women in the past there has always been some kind of ridiculous outside circumstance that eventually ruins things. Be it psychotic ex's, or lingering feelings for them, emotional problems, or some unreasonable distance between us, there has always been something there to drive away what should have been good relationships. Nothing like that has reared its ugly head, and maybe thats what I'm waiting for. I'd like to believe that I'm not moronic enough to go looking for excuses not to get involved with someone though.

Hell, I know that I'm worried about getting myself hurt again. But is that reason enough to keep myself isolated like this? I haven't even dared to try getting involved with anyone again for such a long time, I'm not even really sure where to begin anymore. I need to get this shit figured out before I turn into a fucking hermit permanently. Somebody slap some sense into me please.

    What the?
So this week when I almost got fired my supervisors were aparently all super pissed about it, hence me getting to keep my job. So I come back expecting a stern talking to and instead everybody is apologizing to me and telling em how glad they are that I decided to come back, wierd. Then the next day they make me a SME which basically means I'm getting trained to be a supervisor and I'll basically be a back up in case one of the others can't make it to work, has taken a personal day or is on vacation.

So in short I went from getting almost fired to getting promoted all in the course of 4 days. Haha, in the epic sturggle that is Tal vs. Crappy telemarketting job, aparently I am the victor.
